Quickfire Rules of Bridge

After the cards are evenly dealt among four players, each player has the option to either "pass" or make a bid. Bids can express the number of tricks (above 6) that a team believes they can win in a specific suit or in "No Trumps." The bidding proceeds like an auction; players take turns making higher bids than the current highest or opting to pass.

Once bidding concludes, the player sitting to the left of the Declarer makes the opening lead. Players then play one card at a time in turn, following suit when possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they may play any card from their hand, including a trump card. The trick is won by the player who plays the highest card of the led suit, and the winner leads for the next trick. The primary goal for the winning bidding team is to secure enough tricks to meet their contract, while the opposing team aims to thwart this by winning tricks themselves.

Following the opening lead, the Dummy's cards are revealed face up for all players to see. The Declarer will play both their own cards and those of the Dummy. If your team wins the contract, you will manage both hands during play.

At the end of each round, the winning bidder's team earns contract points if they meet or exceed their contracted bid. Conversely, opponents receive "Undertrick" penalty points for failing to meet their contract. The overall "Rubber" is awarded to the team with the highest score after one team secures victories in two out of three games, which are deemed won when they accumulate 100 contract points.
