Have you ever noticed that your smartphone screen doesn’t turn off at the expected time, suddenly wakes up, or drains battery power even after closing apps? These issues could be related to apps holding a wakelock. The Wakelock Detector allows you to identify battery-draining applications on your Android phone by analyzing the wakelock usage history. This tool empowers users to locate what keeps their phones awake, potentially leading to battery drain during idle times.
A wakelock is a power management feature in the Android operating system. It can either keep the CPU awake (Partial wakelock) or maintain the screen’s active state (Full wakelock). Misuse of the wake lock privilege by applications can result in the CPU or screen staying active without the user’s knowledge, leading to significant battery drain.
The Wakelock Detector provides statistics on wakelock usage for all applications that have held wakelocks since boot. By default, it displays CPU wakelocks sorted by duration. Users can select the Screen wakelock type to view applications responsible for keeping the screen on, especially if the screen remains active after timeout or turns on unexpectedly. Additionally, current running applications can be sorted to show the most active apps at the top.
Displays both CPU wakelock (Partial wakelock) and Screen wakelock (Full wakelock).
Merges wakelocks for corresponding apps into one expandable view for better user experience.
Highlights currently active running applications in red.
Offers easy sorting options by Running state, Wakelock time, and Alphabetical order.
