Beginning with version 1.1, the app can send MIDI Machine Control (MMC) signals either in parallel or as an alternative to standard DAW controls.

Network Compatibility

TouchDAW operates using RTP or multicast MIDI over WiFi and works directly with Apple’s Network MIDI on macOS, Tobias Erichsen's rtpMIDI for Windows, and ipMIDI for Linux (respectively MultiMidiCast or qmidinet). No additional server software or protocol conversion tools are necessary for operation.

USB Connectivity

TouchDAW supports class-compliant MIDI interfaces with USB host mode devices. Direct USB connectivity to PCs is possible through both Android 6 MIDI API and USB connections or ADB. For certain proprietary solutions, a free driver can be downloaded from our website.

Important Update Notice

Please be aware that starting from version 1.6.5, TouchDAW has officially transitioned into maintenance mode. While we will continue to support it by adapting to future Android updates and fixing bugs as necessary, no new features will be added. Users shouldn’t expect monthly updates or the implementation of new ideas. Notably:

TouchDAW will not evolve into a DJ tool.

No additional DAW presets will be included (users can define their profiles on tablets).

The app is limited to eight faders per unit due to protocol restrictions.

The APK package includes both tablet and phone versions of the app.
