The WiFinder application is accessible for free to a select group of users via the Google Play Store. The app offers numerous features at no cost, although users have the option to pay for additional functionality, remove advertisements, and eliminate in-app purchases.
To utilize many of WiFi Warden's in-app features, it’s essential that the app accesses specific permissions on your mobile device. Upon your first launch of the app, ensure you grant these permissions. Furthermore, it is recommended to install the application on an Android device with the latest firmware to ensure compatibility across all devices.
For enhanced functionality within WiFi Warden, a rooted Android device is required.
WPS Connection
If you're using Android 9 or newer, rooting is necessary to connect using WPS.
For Android versions 5 to 8, rooting is not required.
Keep in mind that due to new limitations introduced on Android 9+, the root method may not be effective on some devices.
Viewing WiFi Passwords
Root access is required on all Android versions to view saved WiFi passwords.
Access Point Serial Number
Root access is also needed on all Android versions to obtain the serial number of an access point.
WPS Lock Check
Checking the WPS lock status requires root access regardless of the Android version.
These requirements ensure that you can fully leverage the features offered by the WiFinder application.
