After installing Big Blu, it is important to allow the Substratum app to completely build the themes cache. This theme includes over 100 themed apps, so the installation may take a while to complete.
If you encounter any issues while updating Big Blu or any other Substratum Theme, follow these steps:
1.Uninstall the theme.
2.Clear the cache and data of the Substratum app.
3.Ensure that all permissions are granted to the Substratum app.
4.Reinstall the theme.
The BigBlu Substratum Theme is a custom theme designed for the Substratum Theme System, featuring black or transparent backgrounds with blue accents. This transforms your device's appearance while enhancing various favorite apps.
Users can select from multiple button styles or opt for no buttons at all, ensuring consistency throughout the theme across numerous themed applications.
To activate the theme, simply choose your preferred button style while enabling the Android System overlay.
For optimal functionality:
Ensure you are on a ROM that includes the latest OMS commits.
It’s recommended to use the Big Blu Android System Overlay for the best overall experience.
Big Blu is designed to operate on its own framework:
Verify the appropriate overlay choices for your ROM from the provided list.
If problems arise, select an alternative choice in the overlay list.
A reboot is necessary to properly set and update all theme resources.
Tested and fully supported ROMs include:
N7.1.1 DU11-11.1
RR v5.8.1-5.8.2
Screwd v3.1.1
AICP12.1
GZR Tesla v3.7/Validus v13.7
CM14 using the Substratum Theme Engine.
Generally, this theme should work across various ROMs and devices without issues. If complications persist after applying the theme, you can use the Substratum Rescue zip or Substratum Rescue Legacy zip. For recovery:
1.Navigate to the `.substratum` folder.
2.Delete the `current_overlays.xml` file, or remove individual overlays causing issues from `data/app`.
3.Reboot your device.
For theming Gboard, ensure you use version 6.1.171 or lower and select the Material Dark option. To display buttons/keys, enable key borders within the settings.
